Hello Blessed Reader! Thank you for stopping by EndLogs today for an exciting review this week. This weeks focus will be on the Keychron K4 Keyboard. This gadget was given to me as a Christmas gift from my loving wife, and it is safe to say I love it! I would love to hear of any cool gifts you all received for Christmas in the comments section below!
Before we get into this review I would like to share EndTech's verse of the week:
Proverbs 24:27 "Prepare your work outside: get everything ready for yourself in the field, and after that build your house.".
This Keyboard has quickly become an absolute favorite in my workspace. This is my first mechanical keyboard and it truly adds an interesting feel and variety to typing. It also looks insanely sleek, stylish, is very eye-catching and it does not take up a lot of space on my desk. Most of all, it is extremely versatile in connectivity options and compatibility.
My Model Specifics:
Model Number: K4A2
Switches: Gatereon G Pro Mechanical Blue (Clicky)
RGB: White only (RGB Version available)
What led me to the Keychron K4 Keyboard?
With the Keyboard market being so vast there are a few reasons that led me to want a Keychron K4 keyboard.
Mac/PC compatibility and multimedia keys
The first reason that led me to a Keychron was the simplistic compatibility between both Mac and PC devices. The Keychron K4 in particular comes with both sets of Windows and Mac keys (Windows button, Command, Option, alt) included. It is a simple key cap swap and mode change and then you a keyboard layout tailored to your specific device. However for my case I was specifically looking for a keyboard with a Mac layout that also had the Mac function and multimedia key icons printed on the keycaps. This keyboard has all of the mac function icons and the keys work perfectly with my M2 Mac Mini.
Layout and Size
The Keychron K4 Version 2 layout is a 96% layout with 100 Keys. This means it has the essentials that I needed for my work (number pad), while also being fitted in a smaller frame than a normal full size keyboard. I was drawn to the 96% size because I like the smaller footprint of the keyboard. While I have room on my desk for a full size keyboard, I always like having open space on my desk as it makes me feel less cramped and also leaves more room for me to have notebooks, textbooks or other things either behind or to the side of the keyboard. I will mention that as this is my first time using a 96% layout and coming from a background of always using full size keyboards, I often find myself struggling to quickly find and accurately use the arrow keys and the number pad. On a full size keyboard I can easily move my fingers over to these sections without looking down due to the space between these two sections and the letter keys. On this 96% layout I am not accustomed to the lack of the space and cannot accurately estimate where to quickly move my fingers without looking when trying to use the arrows or number keys. While this is an inconvenience, I don't see this as a downside of the keyboard, as I know over time my fingers will naturally save into muscle memory the locations, or the alternative is that I can swap the arrow keys with different keycaps that have a distinguishable tactile feeling to them such as ridges or a different material like a metallic keycap.
The Bottom frame of the K4 also is a 9 degree angle which makes it really comfortable for long periods of continuous typing without your hands getting tired.
Connectivity
The K4 can be used either in wireless mode or wired. The K4 has a USB-C type plug that can be used to connect it and use it in wired mode as well as charge it at the same time. In wireless mode, the K4 can be connected to up to 3 different devices via Bluetooth at the same time. It can be easily switched across these devices by a simple key combination.

Final Thoughts
Overall the Keychron K4 has quickly become my favorite keyboard. It works seamlessly for me switching between 2 devices which are PC and MAC. The key layout is fantastic as well as includes the mac multimedia keys. The ability to be wireless or wired is an absolute plus. The build quality and construction of the keyboard is one of the best that I have seen so far for any keyboard in this range.
As a tech power-user I highly recommend this product!
